A Relocation of Power
Is the US empire ending or are the Power Elite just moving elsewhere?
I’ve read from numerous commentators on various platforms that they believe what the USA is going through is the end of it’s empire. That the US is violently lashing out in all directions as it desperately tries to hold on to power.
This idea isn’t outlandish – all great empires come to an end in some way or another. I can understand how people would believe this considering that it feels as if at any moment nuclear Armagedden could occur.
But what if…
Instead of the US empire ending, it’s just moving. I’m not referring to the nation of the United States, but rather where the seat of powerful elite who really run the empire – the oligarchs and whoever is actually calling the shots – are relocating.
The powerful are parasitic and once they’ve consumed everything they possibly can from one location they abandon it and find a new place to exploit. The power amassed by these elite figures doesn’t just dissipate, it just moves. It’s not like these people honor any borders. They take what they want and to hell with everyone else.
There are so many things happening now in the world that are, quite frankly, abnormal. The eerie silence around an assassination attempt of one Presidential candidate and a similar eerie silence around the dropping out of the other Presidential candidate while his Vice President is selected to run in his place.
It’s not just that – when trying to describe some of Kamala Harris’ qualities, the New York Times opined that she was “a candidate who can memorize a line and capably deliver it on command – not something that could be said of Joe Biden, in the end.”
A statement that begs the question – who’s line would she be delivering “on command”?
At any rate, if the seat of power is relocating, it would be a slow process, one shrouded in secrecy until the shift is complete. The people holding the power would ultimately be the same, but the physical location of their new empire would be different.
At this point I’d wonder if the new location would be more symbolic or ritualistic in nature rather than militaristic as it is now.
About a week and a half ago I was joking with a coworker that perhaps the real reason that Harris hasn’t posted any of her policies on her website is because the moment that she did so her base would notice that they are not that much different than Trumps – in fact they’d appear almost identical.
What we’ve been glimpsing over the past few days is almost exactly that. It’s as if the Deep State have given up on their charade of trying to convince the people that the two parties are somehow different. Perhaps because as American society descends into a chaotic abyss, it no longer matters what the people know and don’t know.
Anyway, I realize that I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from SubStack. That’s largely because when I first began this blog, I wanted to write about various topics but quickly found myself only able to focus on the diabolical genocide that Israel is carrying out on the Palestinians.
Although I’ll continue to write about that – the topic, to be honest is quite overwhelming so I do what to change things up a bit and diversify what I publish here. I no longer want to give myself arbitrary perimeters for this blog because what that will lead to is me ultimately giving up on it. I don’t want that to happen.
